My design tools

Many designers never touch pencil to paper anymore in this Computer Age. But, I believe that sketching is a best way to make my idea and concept clear and organized. I found a good article to support my belief, The Role of Sketching in the Design Process. You might want to read it.

I’m using my favorite “design tools” which are Rhodia Graph Paper Pad 6 X 8 and Pilot G-Tec-C 0.3mm. I’m really happy that I have found this combination for my sketching.

The first image above is a sketch I created during the design process of Victorinox: Swiss Army Brochure

“People say: ‘It is only a sketch’. It takes the genius of a real artist to make a good sketch – to express the most important things in life – the fairness of a face – to represent air and light and to do it all with such simple shorthand means. One must have wit to make a sketch. Pictures that have months of labor expended on them may be more incomplete than a sketch.” - Robert Henri
